Food Art; Garnishing Food made easy

The swan symbolizes love but they are mean critters. Hand built earthenware

Clay sculptures are all hand built and kiln fired without the use of any molding techniques, John has never had an art course which made him rely on a common sense approach to sculpture, to create delicate and releastic/impressionistic wildlife he would have to make all componets seperate, to create a bird each feather is made individualy, each medium has its own diffuclities and assets, as in life the trick is to turn the difficulties into assets!

Photos will be added semi weekly

What is an artist?

I`ve seen the artist in my local barber, the self taught brick layer, even my neighbor when he is cutting his lawn. I belive a true artist is someone that is detailed, meticulous and lets his creativity flow from the spirt into the subject while always striving for perfection, although he never achieves this, it motivates him to create more. Art is created through emotion from the soul not intellect; in fact in some cases I have seen the intellect inhibit the artist.

I do not remember in complete detail all of the processes it took to create these delicate works of art. While the sculptures were in the creation process I felt as though the answers to the many challenges easily flowed out of me with little or no actual thought. I believe the answers came from my spirt.
